Manchester United are reportedly looking at rumoured Arsenal target Paulo Dybala as a potential replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo, with the Portuguese superstar now wanting to leave Old Trafford this summer.

According to TuttoMercatoWeb, the Red Devils are now expected to pursue the Argentine free agent, joining the likes of Arsenal, Inter Milan and Tottenham in the hunt to sign the former Juventus superstar, who left the Serie A giants last month at the end of his contract.

Dybala is one of biggest free agents currently on the market this summer, and with Ronaldo set to leave United in the coming weeks, the 28-year-old attacker could be an option for Erik Ten Hag should the five-time Ballon d’Or winner get what he wants and departs Manchester.

Originally signed by Juventus in 2015 for £23m, Dybala has since become one of Europe’s best attackers and a world-class player in his position, yet due to the forward’s sky-high wages, getting any deal done to sign the versatile striker has proven to be difficult for most clubs.

Indeed, wages alone have been a big reason why the likes of Arsenal and Inter have failed to sign Dybala, yet if Ronaldo were to leave United, the Red Devils will have more than enough left in the reserve to bring in the South American superstar on a free transfer.

Moreover, for Arsenal, having Dybala links taken off their plate will be a huge weight lifted off Mikel Arteta’s shoulders, with the attacker not exactly what the Gunners are looking for this summer despite some supporters demanding the north London side to sign the former Serie A star.

Whilst Dybala might not be the best fit for Arsenal, the ex-Juventus attacker is more than perfect for United, even more so should Ronaldo leave this summer, which will give Ten Hag both the wiggle room on the wage bill to sign the Argentine and the motivation to actually move for the forward.

After all, the Premier League has long been viewed as a potential home for Dybala, and if Ronaldo were to leave this summer, the 28-year-old is an ideal solution for United in their quest to return to the top of English football under their new Dutch manager.
