Jesse Lingard looks West Ham United-bound as he intends to pick David Moyes’ side over a move to Premier League rivals Everton.
Lingard is a free agent this summer having left Manchester United at the end of his contract.
The 29-year-old had spent some 22 years on the United books having joined as a kid, so this was quite the emotional exit.
Yet having barely featured for United last season, it was clear that the time was right for Lingard to leave and chase playing time elsewhere.
Jesse Lingard looks West Ham United-bound
Lingard has already proven himself away from United.
Lingard’s 2021 loan move to West Ham was a roaring success as he racked up nine goals and four assists in just 16 appearances.
United decided to keep Lingard but barely gave him a chance to recapture that West Ham form.
Now available for nothing, Lingard will be in demand but it looks like a return to West Ham is now on the cards.
The Daily Mail report that Lingard is now expected to turn down all other offers in favour of rejoining the Hammers.

It’s stated that Everton are one of the clubs set to miss out on signing Lingard this summer with Frank Lampard keen on a free transfer.
Lingard may have been tempted by Everton given their proximity to his hometown of Warrington but the pull of playing for West Ham again is huge.
David Moyes got the best out of Lingard and given their hopes of breaking into the top four in the near future, this is an exciting project at the London Stadium.
Newcastle have also been keen on Lingard but the Northern Echo claim that the Magpies are wary of meeting his wage demands.
That certainly plays into West Ham’s hands and Lingard looks to be nearing a deal to return to East London – and hopefully pick up where he left off with the Hammers.
