Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United are ready to break their club transfer record for Bayer Leverkusen winger Moussa Diaby, according to 90min.
Newcastle United plan bid for Bayer Leverkusen’s Moussa Diaby
90min have reported this morning that Newcastle are preparing to bid big for Bayer star Diaby in the summer transfer window.
The Magpies need to pay in excess of £40 million for the 22-year-old, and they are ready to launch a bid to satisfy the demands of Bundesliga club Bayer.
U-turn
This report in 90min suggests that Newcastle have made a complete U-turn over their stance on France international Diaby.

The Telegraph reported on June 6 that Newcastle’s interest in the former Paris Saint-Germain winger was over after Bayer made it clear that they want £60 million for Diaby, described as “versatile” and “skilful” by France head coach Didier Deschamps on Bundesliga.com.
Stats
Diaby made 32 appearances in the Bundesliga for Bayer last season.
The winger scored 13 goals and gave 12 assists in those matches.
The France international also scored four goals and provided two assists in eight Europa League games last season.
We think that Diaby would be a good signing for Newcastle, not just for now, but for years to come as well.
