Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United have made a bid for Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, but Lazio manager Maurizio Sarri wants the midfielder to join Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea instead, according to Il Messaggero.
The report in the Italian publication has claimed that Newcastle have made an offer of €50-55 million (£42.99-£47.28 million) for Milinkovic-Savic.
Lazio chairman Claudio Lotito is not happy with the offer for the Serbia international midfielder and wants more.
The Serbia international midfielder’s agent, Mateja Kezman, has made it clear that he will not play for Lazio next season.
Il Messaggero have added that Lazio manager Sarri actually wants the 27-year-old to move to Chelsea.

Sarri, a former Chelsea manager, wants to sign Emerson and Ruben Loftus-Cheek from the Blues, and he believes that a transfer of Milinkovic-Savic to Stamford Bridge would help him get those two players.
Could Newcastle United sign Sergej Milinkovic-Savic from Lazio?
In our view, Newcastle United are unlikely to be able to sign Sergej Milinkovic-Savic from Lazio in the summer transfer window.
Unless, of course, they pay a lot more than the £47 million they have already offered.
Arsenal are also claimed to be interested in the Serbian, which means more competition for the Magpies.
Would Newcastle increase their bid for Milinkovic-Savic from £47 million?
We do not think so.
