Youri Tielemans to Arsenal appears to be back on again, amid speculation that Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United also want to sign him.
The Belgium international has been linked with a transfer to Arsenal for much of the summer transfer window.
However, Ryan Taylor of The Express reported a couple of weeks ago that the Gunners had cooled their interest in a development which HITC Sport claimed could benefit Tottenham.
According to Sky Sports journalist Michael Bridge [YouTube], Spurs could be plotting a late move to sign the Leicester City midfielder, also linked with a move to Manchester United [MEN].
But reporter for CBS, Ben Jacobs, has told Give Me Sport that the player – valued at £30 million – is ‘fully sold’ on a potential move to Arsenal and that he would join Mikel Arteta’s outfit over the Red Devils.
Jacobs said: “He’s fully sold on a move to Arsenal, so if Manchester United were to bid for Tielemans, they will only get him if Arsenal decide that’s fine, go ahead and take the player. It’s not really a head-to-head.
“I think that Manchester United’s potential interest in Tielemans, which is still to be stood up, could just catalyse Arsenal to make another bid or may have Arsenal say ‘I’m sorry, but we’re not interested. Go ahead and join Manchester United if you want’.”
Problem is, it remains to be seen how keen Arsenal really are.
There hasn’t been a lot of concrete speculation about a move to the Emirates Stadium, which you would think could benefit Spurs or Manchester United.
With Arteta having already signed Fabio Vieira, and with there being very little recent speculation of Granit Xhaka quitting the Gunners, Tielemans is no longer a priority.
Other Premier League outfits need him more and although the player himself is seemingly keen, the feeling does not appear to be mutual.
