West Ham want Owen Wijndal as they chase a new left back having missed out on Tyrell Malacia, who will join Manchester United.
It’s surely time for West Ham to now bring in a new left back.
Aaron Cresswell continues to be a key player for West Ham some eight years since his arrival from Ipswich Town.
Arthur Masuaku is something of a forgotten man at this point and isn’t going to offer much for David Moyes going forward.
It feels like West Ham are now ready to go in for another left back – and their attention appears to be focused on the Dutch market.
West Ham want Owen Wijndal
Fabrizio Romano reported on Tuesday that West Ham made a late move to sign Feyenoord defender Tyrell Malacia.
Malacia looked all set for a move for Lyon and West Ham tried to hijack the deal.
The problem for West Ham is that Manchester United had the same thought and now look have won the race for Malacia.
That means West Ham have missed out on Malacia but could now switch their attention to AZ Alkmaar star Owen Wijndal.
The Athletic report that Wijndal is on Moyes’ wish list at left back alongside Hoffenheim ace David Raum.

Wijndal, 22, enjoyed a superb season for AZ by racking up 12 assists in all competitions.
A Dutch international with 11 caps to his name, Wijndal is also the AZ captain – a major honour at such a young age.
Wijndal seems ready to leave AZ this summer and West Ham could face a battle to secure his signature.
Foot Mercato reported earlier this month that Tottenham had opened talks to sign Wijndal, but there has been no update on that.
Romano has since claimed that two clubs have backed away from Wijndal, which would line up with Tottenham after their signing of Ivan Perisic.
Ajax are keen too but the door may be open for West Ham to go and sign a Dutch left back in Wijndal – even if his compatriot Malacia was the top target.
