Fabio Paratici is enhancing his reputation among Tottenham Hotspur supporters this summer.
Well, he pretty much became a very popular figure among the fanbase after it emerged that it was he who convinced Antonio Conte to replace Nuno Espirito Santo in North London last November.
But the former Juventus sporting director is overseeing a very exciting summer transfer window, giving Spurs fans a lot of optimism ahead of the new campaign following additions of Ivan Perisic, Fraser Forster and Ivan Perisic.
Next up for the Lilywhites could be Richarlison who, according to Football London, Tottenham are confident about signing.
That would be a brilliant piece of business, but it could be even better if a report from 90 Min is believed.
According to that publication, Spurs could send Steven Bergwijn to Everton in an effort to reduce their £50 million asking price.
With Bergwijn valued at around £25 million, Tottenham could, in theory, pay around £25 million for Richarlison and if that happens, well it’s another stunning masterstroke by the Italian guru.
Bergwijn is a very decent player, but he hasn’t started a Premier League outing under Conte since January.
He is, in other words, a squad player and if Paratici can offload the Dutchman, while securing someone like Richarlison for only £25 million then it’s such a fantastic bargain for the North Londoners.
Remember, Bergwijn is still heavily linked to Ajax and that could materialise very soon.
This speculation about a player-plus-cash arrangement is far from concrete, but it does make sense for all parties and if Paratici gets it done, well prepare for his popularity to spike even further.
