The Scottish Sun claim Ligue 1 clubs Rennes and Lorient, as well as newly-promoted Bundesliga outfit Schalke, are all looking at a deal for Celtic defender Christopher Jullien – and could get him cheap.
Jullien, 29, managed just one appearance during the 2021-22 campaign as injury blighted the 6ft 7in defender’s season. The campaign prior, Jullien was only fit for 14 games. A world away from his first Celtic season.

Indeed, Celtic brought Jullien to Glasgow from Toulouse for a fee of £7million (BBC) and he scored seven goals in 47 games from centre-back. Now, the Hoops could record a £5.5million loss on the defender this summer.
The report claims that Rennes, Schalke and Lorient all want to sign Jullien this summer. The Frenchman is in the final 12 months of his Celtic contract – and the Sun claim he could leave for a bargain fee of just £1.5million.
Clubs looking at deal for Celtic defender Jullien
Celtic can hardly avoid it. While he showed in his first season he was worth every penny of the £7million spent, injuries have ruined his time at Parkhead. Celtic need to get his wages off the list this summer.
They also need to sell him this summer in order to avoid losing him on a free transfer in 12 months. So, while it might seen like a big loss on Jullien – it could be a whole lot worse if Celtic were not to take action now.
Celtic have brought in Cameron Carter-Vickers on a permanent basis and still boast Carl Starfelt and Stephen Welsh. A new centre-back is likely to come in, if Jullien does decide to go.
