Who will Leeds United winger Raphinha sign for this summer? Chelsea? Arsenal or perhaps a surprise move from elsewhere, such as Tottenham?
Of course, there is the dream move for the sought-after Brazil star and that’s donning the colours of Barcelona. But they aren’t exactly in a financial situation to do much talking.
Nonetheless, it was reported on Tuesday that Chelsea are close to agreeing a £55 million fee with Leeds for Raphinha, as Arsenal could miss out on such a sought-after target.
That was relayed by 433 on Instagram, which was liked by Fabrizio Romano, who broke the news, as well as Arsenal winger, Reiss Nelson.
DO ARSENAL STILL HAVE A CHANCE?
Understandably so, a number of Arsenal fans would have been excited at the prospect of dropping Raphinha into their attacking mix.
There is a Brazilian feel about that side of north London, with the two Gabriel’s already at the club, youngster Marquinhos joining this summer and Gabriel Jesus being pictured with Edu on Tuesday.
If Arsenal were to get Raphinha, then they could possibly line up with a Brazil front three and players who may well be starting their opening World Cup game against Serbia in Qatar.
But, it seems as though Chelsea will be adding the player to their mix instead, as Highbury legend, Ray Parlour, admitted that it is a ‘blow’ for his former side.
If they do, then it will make the race for Champions League football pretty interesting next season because Arsenal won’t want to miss out again.
Chelsea did secure third spot pretty comfortably, in the end, but are they closer to gaining in on the Premier League’s top two?
Or should they be looking over their shoulder at the likes of Tottenham and Arsenal, who are making moves in the transfer market this summer?
