Arsenal wanted Gianluca Scamacca but the Sassuolo striker has now agreed personal terms to join Paris Saint-Germain this summer.
Arsenal have been focusing their attention on signing a new striker this summer and have been linked with many options.
It now seems that Arsenal have secured their striker of the future having agreed a deal to sign Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus.
Jesus is understood to have undergone a medical with Arsenal on Tuesday and his arrival should be confirmed very soon.
Arsenal now won’t be in the market for another striker and that means some of their other targets may head elsewhere.
Arsenal wanted Gianluca Scamacca
One of the names in the mix was Sassuolo hitman Gianluca Scamacca.
90Min reported earlier this month that Arsenal were reading an official offer for Scamacca after shining in Italy.
It was suggested that Edu was personally keen on luring Scamacca to North London this summer.
Scamacca, 23, hit 16 goals in Serie A last season and has now become a key feature of the Italian national team setup.
A giant 6ft 5in target man, Scamacca would have been something completely different for Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal attack.
Yet with Jesus now set to join, there will no need for Scamacca at Arsenal.

It does though seem that Scamacca will earn his big move this summer as Paris Saint-Germain make their move.
New sporting director Luis Campos is looking for a different profile at PSG; it won’t be all glitz and glamour anymore, with a stronger focus on signing talent with high potential.
That’s where Campos has always excelled with Monaco and Lille, with PSG now set to benefit.
Get French Football News report that PSG have agreed personal terms with Scamacca as well as Milan Skriniar and Renato Sanches.
PSG still need to secure an agreement with Sassuolo but it looks like Scamacca now has a real chance at a huge move to France.
Arsenal will hope that Jesus is the striker they need, but seeing Scamacca potential shine with PSG would sting regardless.
