90Min claim Tottenham, Aston Villa and four other Premier League clubs want to sign Manchester City defender Nathan Ake this summer – with Pep Guardiola open to the Dutch star’s exit if the price is right.

Ake, 27, joined Manchester City for £41million (90Min) in 2020 from Bournemouth – but has only played 40 times for the Premier League champions since. His game time did improve last term, clocking up 27 outings.

But he is firmly down the pecking order behind Aymeric Laporte, Ruben Dias and John Stones. With the World Cup incoming, Ake will be conscious of the fact that he needs to be playing regularly to start for the Netherlands.

Reports emerged earlier this summer that Chelsea want to re-sign Ake, who is rated at £50million. 90Min say he is one of the six clubs keen, along with Spurs, Villa, Newcastle, West Ham and Bournemouth.

Tottenham and Villa want Manchester City defender Ake

Guardiola would obviously prefer to keep Ake, in order for his defensive cover to stay put. But Ake will surely be considering a summer exit given the World Cup is just months away. He has a contract until 2025.

A player branded “fantastic” by Liverpool’s Virgil van Dijk, Ake would surely improve most Premier League sides. At £50million, Ake is still good value given he is left-footed and about to enter his prime.

Which club is best? Spurs are desperate for a left-sided defender and are in the Champions League. A return to Chelsea would be tempting, after losing Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger this summer.

Those two would surely be on pole, but West Ham, Newcastle and Villa surely have the cash to tempt him too. A return to Bournemouth is very unlikely, and a move would have to be a loan.
