Andros Townsend has said on talkSPORT that his Everton teammate Richarlison need not join Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur in the summer transfer window.
Townsend is a former Tottenham winger, and the ex-Newcastle United player believes that Everton are big enough to keep hold of Richarlison, who has been linked with a move to Antonio Conte’s Spurs this summer.
Well-known and well-respected journalist Fabrizio Romano has reported on Twitter that Everton star Richarlison is interested in joining Tottenham in the summer transfer window.
Romano has added that Tottenham are in talks with Premier League rivals Everton over signing the Brazil international forward.
According to The Sun on Sunday (12/6; page 68), Everton want at least £65 million as transfer fee for Richarlison, with Tottenham ready to pay £50 million for the Brazilian.

Townsend said about Richarlison and Tottenham on talkSPORT: “I think Everton is one of the biggest clubs in England, one of the most historic clubs, one of the biggest fanbases.
“He’s already a hero at Everton for what he’s done. He’s a fantastic player and towards the end of the season the goals he scored to keep us up.
“We speak about what Frank Lampard did for the team, why the fans did to lift us, but Richarlison came back from injury, scored goals and kept us up. So he’s already got hero status at the club… and that’s all you’re getting from me!
“I had years of Wilfried Zaha questions [when he played at Crystal Palace], so I’m used to it by now!”
Could Richarlison leave Everton for Tottenham Hotspur?
In our view, Tottenham Hotspur could be able to sign Richarlison from Premier League rivals Everton in the summer transfer window.
After all, money talks.
And, yes, as Andros Townsend points out, Everton are one of the biggest and most historic clubs in England, but Tottenham are massive as well and will play in the UEFA Champions League next season.
Spurs also have a world-class manager in Antonio Conte, and they are better placed than Everton to challenge for top honours right now.
