West Ham want Jesse Lingard again and have now made their move for the free agent after his Manchester United exit.

Who can forget Lingard’s blistering form on loan at West Ham last season? Nine goals for four assists in 16 games was simply incredible after his January 2021 move.

That form tempted United into keeping Lingard rather than selling him but they may heavily regret that decision.

Lingard started just two Premier League games and is now leading Old Trafford on a free transfer with his contract up.

Missing out on cash for Lingard just seems to be the kind of decision United are making at the moment, but it’s against the backdrop of Lingard’s uncertain future.

Lingard finds himself in a position where he appeals as a free agent but his wage demands seem to be a huge problem.

Newcastle fancied Lingard but cooled their interest after hearing he wanted a staggering £200,000-a-week.

The logical move is for Sinclair to return to West Ham and try to recapture that form from last year.

Sky Sports now claim that West Ham have made an offer to Lingard in the hope of bringing him back to East London.

It’s unlikely that West Ham will have offered £200,000-a-week but Lingard will now have a decision to make.

The 29-year-old simply needs to be playing games and shining on a regular basis.

Lingard received that at West Ham last season and returning to play for David Moyes again has to be appealing.

Said Benrahma’s future is up in the air, Nikola Vlasic could go and Andriy Yarmolenko has been released this summer.

That means a star signing like Lingard would absolutely make sense for West Ham and fans would surely love to see Lingard in claret and blue once again.
