Who is Yeat?

Noah Olivier Smith, who is known by the stage name Yeat, is a 22-year-old rapper.

He was born in Irvine, California and grew up in Portland, Oregon, before moving to New York to pursue a career as a musician. He settled down in Los Angeles where he is currently based.

Yeat gained fame with the release of his mixtape 4L and his debut studio album Up 2 Më. The young rapper further made headlines after his song U Could Tëll was featured in one of Euphoria‘s episodes.

He has amassed a fan base of 1.4 million followers on Instagram.

Rumour says his song will be featured in Minions

Rumours have flooded several platforms, including Twitter, Instagram and YouTube, that one of Yeat’s songs will be used in the soundtrack of 2022 Minions: The Rise of Gr, the latest addition in the franchise.

The film is out in July 2022 and music executive Cole Bennett, who has worked with Yeat, said that he wants to use the rapper’s music in the new film.

“I’m doing a trailer for the Minions movie and I convinced them to let me use Yeat for the soundtrack,” Cole Bennett has claimed in a Twitter post.

The speculations were further fuelled after Minions’ official Twitter profile commented with eyes emoji under the post.

After the post led to a huge hype on social media, Yeat released an extended snippet of a track called Luh Minion (Count Money).

IMDB doesn’t currently list the rapper’s name under ‘sound department’ so we will have to wait until the release of the film to find out if the rapper’s music will be featured.

Fans want Minions to feature Yeat’s song

It’s safe to say that the online interaction between Cole Bennett and Minions’ Twitter handle created enough hype for fans.

“Yeat playing on that Minion movie??? Yeah I gotta go watch it,” commented one person.

Another one speculated: “Yeat being in the new minions movie has to be the most random collab.”

Someone else added: “I have to go watch the new Minions movie just to listen to the new Yeat.”

A fourth one chimed in: “Yeat x Minions? [I have] been waiting for this collab.”
