Marco Asensio to Liverpool is becoming a little more probable.

AS in Spain reported earlier this week that Liverpool have already made contact with Real Madrid about signing the Spain international this summer.

Asensio is out of contract next summer.

And Calciomercato is reporting this morning that the European champions – who beat Jurgen Klopp’s side in the Champions League final a month ago – are more than likely going to sell the 26-year-old.

The report claims that Asensio is growing unlikely to sign a new contract at the Santiago Bernabeu and with the club not prepared to lose him for free in 12 months, Florentino Perez will now offload the player this summer.

If it happens, yes Marco Asensio to Liverpool would certainly be a good signing.

Remember, Klopp has just lost Sadio Mane to Bayern Munich and another wide player could and should be signed.

As ever, the Reds will be competing on all fronts again next season and although Klopp has Mohamed Salah and Luis Diaz in the wide roles as far as the first XI goes, the former Borussia Dortmund boss needs depth.

However, Asensio himself is wary about joining Liverpool by virtue of how good Klopp’s attacking players are, with the Spaniard fearing that he will not play regularly.

Nevertheless, news that he’s being sold this summer is certainly a good sign if the Anfield outfit are genuinely interested and time will tell what happens.
