Homme Du Match claim Newcastle and West Ham have sent scouts to Brazil this summer to watch two players specifically – in the form of Sao Paulo’s Igor Gomes and Palmeiras midfielder Danilo.
Gomes, 23, is an attacking midfielder but can play anywhere in midfield – as an anchor, box to box, as a 10 or out wide. He has been nicknamed the ‘new Kaka’, a player Tottenham wanted to sign last summer.

The other is Danilo. A slightly more recognisable name given he has been linked with a move to England this summer and has been called up by Brazil. At 21, he has already played 112 times for Palmeiras in holding midfield.
Reports claim that both West Ham and Arsenal are interested in the £21million-rated star. He has a contract with the Brazilian Serie A side until December 2026 – meaning Palmeiras are able to keep him for some time yet.
Newcastle and West Ham have sent scouts to Brazil
Both players look like exceptional talents. Gomes’ versatility is a valuable commodity to have and would be an excellent addition for most Premier League clubs – certainly those not already in European competition.
Meanwhile, Danilo is a top, top talent. Arsenal sporting director Edu is renowned for his knowledge of Brazilian football and if he is keen on signing the midfielder then he clearly thinks he is ready for the Premier League.
Time will tell if the scouts sent by West Ham or Newcastle will lead to either club making offers. But the chances are that the scout report they put together on either player will be glowing.
