With one-year left on his contract at Anfield, many Liverpool fans were hoping that the Africa Cup of Nations winning star would stay put and sign on the dotted line.

But he opted to leave the fancy lights of the Premier League to join Bayern who will be searching for an incredible 11th consecutive Bundesliga title next season.

Germany and Bayern legend, Kahn, who is the club’s CEO, reacted to Mane’s transfer from Liverpool on his personal Instagram and the former goalkeeper had this to say.

Mane hasn’t joined Bayern to help them win the German title because they are already dominating that and have been doing so for the last decade.

But, if Robert Lewandowski departs, then the Senegal international will be expected to try and fill his void, albeit it’s a pretty big one.

On top of that, Bayern will also want to taste Champions League success again, after doing so behind-closed-doors against PSG when the pandemic hit.

Could Mane’s addition help them to European glory? Well, he certainly knows how to produce the goods and help his team get over that line after winning that trophy in Madrid in 2019.

Mane’s career may have ended with defeat in Paris to deny him a second Champions League medal, but he certainly knows his way around that trophy and those in Bavaria will be hoping he can sprinkle some of that magic on them next season.
