According to The Mirror, Newcastle United are interested in Fulham defender Tosin Adarabioyo.

Newcastle, of course, already have one former Fulham centre-back in their backline in the shape of Dan Burn, and now, they could partner him with Tosin.

Burn is, of course, one of the most physically imposing defenders in the Premier League, and while Tosin is a giant in his own right – standing at 6ft 5, it’s fair to say he and Burn differ in one area.

Indeed, while Burn is a boulder at the back, Tosin is more of a Rolls Royce combining incredible physical stature with lightning speed.

In fact, the Fulham defender’s pace has even been praised by Pep Guardiola in the past.

What’s been said?

Guardiola spoke about the centre-back during his time at Manchester City.

“We have to tell Tosin he has a lot of steps to get better, so it’s not done, the player isn’t done. But he has all the quality,” Guardiola said.

“He is fast, he is faster than people can believe it. He’s strong in the air. He has the quality to look behind the line for the next step, the next pass, but he has a lot of things to improve and I hope I can help him to develop his skills.”

Complete package

Based on Guardiola’s description, you would be forgiven for believing that Tosin is the complete package at centre-half, and you’d be right.

The Fulham man really does have it all. He’s lightning quick, he’s as strong as they come and his line-breaking passing is next level.

There’s a reason Tosin is targeting a place in the England squad, and with the right coaching, he’d surely get a chance for the Three Lions.

Getting the centre-back out of Fulham may be easier said than done, but if Newcastle can land him, they’ll be getting a real gem.
