Everton want Harry Winks but so far only want a loan deal whilst Tottenham Hotspur attempt to use him to sign Richarlison.

The Toffees are in the market for another midfielder with Fabian Delph out of contract and Donny van de Beek heading back to Manchester United.

Frank Lampard knows a thing or two about quality midfield play and now wants to add quality to his engine room.

One of Everton’s main targets is Winks, with Tottenham more than willing to let him leave the club this summer.

Everton want Harry Winks

Tottenham have just signed Yves Bissouma meaning Winks is now down to fifth-choice in Antonio Conte’s midfield pecking order.

Winks is now behind Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Rodrigo Bentancur, Oliver Skipp and Bissouma, so it’s clear that he needs to leave.

Reports on Wednesday suggested that Everton had opened talks to sign Winks.

The Daily Mail now add that Everton actually only want to take Winks on loan rather than sign him permanently.

Tottenham are though trying a swap deal and have discussed using Winks in a move to sign Everton striker Richarlison.

The Brazilian appears to be a prime target for Tottenham but Everton will want in excess of £50million for their prized striker.

Tottenham understandably want to use Winks in any deal to try and bring the price down, but Everton’s first stance about a loan may be an issue there.

Winks has been told to find a new club and with only two years left on his contract, Tottenham want to sell now for maximum value.

Everton’s budget is tight though and it may just rule out such a deal this summer, even if Lampard likes him.

The 26-year-old can’t afford to have another season sat on the Tottenham sidelines so this is the time to move on – and Spurs will be hoping to get themselves a new striker in the process by landing Richarlison.
