Sasa Kalajdzic joining Tottenham Hotspur is seemingly on the cards once again.
Tottenham were interested in the towering striker last summer as a potential replacement for Harry Kane.
But according to Bild, Spurs remain keen Stuttgart hitman – who stands at 6 foot 7 – and interestingly, his agent was in the United Kingdom last week for ‘talks’.
The German publication doesn’t mention if the negotiations were with the Lilywhites or not but, with Antonio Conte rumoured to want an additional number nine this summer, and given the historic link to Kalajdzic, it’s entirely plausible that the representative was speaking with the North Londoners about his client.
Last week, Stuttgarter Nachrichten in Germany reported that the Bundesliga outfit would want around £21 million to sell their striker, whose contract expires next summer.
And for that figure, it’s definitely worth considering.
Tottenham have needed a quality back-up to Kane for some time.
In fact, you could argue that the 28-year-old has never had an adequate plan-b option behind him, with people like Vincent Janssen, Fernando Llorente and Carlos Vinicius nowhere near good enough.
Of course, Conte uses Son Heung-min in more advanced role than other Lilywhites managers have done.
But it remains to be seen if the Italian manager is planning to continue that arrangement because although it suited Son down to the ground, evident by his Golden Boot award last term, it didn’t suit Kane who found himself setting up goals more often than he scored them.
