Well, Takumi Minamino leaving Liverpool is looking like a matter of time.

According to French outlet Foot Mercato, Monaco have struck a £13 million agreement to sign the Liverpool winger on a permanent basis this summer.

Minamino has previously had one loan spell away from Anfield – Southampton during the 2020-21 campaign – but he spent the whole of last term with Jurgen Klopp’s side.

In March, Klopp labelled the Japan international as ‘exceptional‘ following a two-goal showing in an FA Cup victory over Norwich City, a competition that the German manager went on to win this past season.

However, 176 minutes of Premier League football illustrated that he was nowhere near Klopp’s best XI at Liverpool and an exit has looked on the cards for a while.

And now it’s coming.

After agreeing a fee last night, Fabrizio Romano has now revealed that Minamino and the Ligue 1 outfit have reached an agreement in regards to personal terms.

This is another step in the right direction for Minamino and it’s looking like a case of ‘when’ and not ‘if’ any longer.

When the former Salzburg attacker leaves Liverpool, Klopp will have lost him, Divock Origi and Sadio Mane is on the brink of joining Bayern Munich.

That’s three attackers and Darwin Nunez is the only senior forward player to join the Reds, having come for a club-record £85 million earlier in June.

With that in mind, it’ll be interesting to see if Klopp dips back into the transfer market for another attacker.

Fabio Carvalho is certainly an attacking player, but he’s 19 and has no Premier League experience, meaning that anohter forward option just might be considered.

A Sky Sports reporter revealed on Sunday that Liverpool are definitely not finished in terms of spending, after signing Calvin Ramsay, so it’s a case of watch this space.
