Manuel Neuer has claimed that Sadio Mane’s transfer from Liverpool to Bayern Munich is the ‘perfect match’

On Wednesday afternoon, Liverpool announced that Mane has departed for the German champions after six years at the club and that he leaves as a ‘legend’, as they posted on Twitter.

What the Anfield faithful have known for a long while has now become a reality, as Mane ends his time with Liverpool, after winning every possible trophy, including the Champions League in Madrid.

The 30-year-old joins one successful team for another, with Bayern dominating the Bundesliga for a long while now, winning the last ten titles.

When Mane’s transfer was confirmed, Bayern posted several Instagram posts relating to the forward’s move, including him donning the club’s colours.

In the comments section of that post, German goalkeeper Neuer posted ‘perfect match’, as well as other messages welcoming him to Bavaria.

Aside from Manchester City providing the Reds blow after blow in the Premier League, Liverpool have been enjoying a pretty successful period in their recent history.

Mane played a huge role in that, as he was part of a formidable front three involving Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah.

But all of that has now come to an end, and for some, it has been a surprise because the Senegal star is swapping Premier League football to play in German’s top-tier.

Bayern will, more than likely, add another title to their ranks next season, but could Mane’s addition boost their chances of winning another European Cup?

Both have tasted that trophy in more recent times and now those in Bavaria will be hoping the two combining with one another will lead to more Champions League success.
