Foot Mercato claim Lens want a similar price to the one Newcastle spent to sign Bruno Guimaraes for their midfielder Seko Fofana – amid reports that the Ivory Coast international is a target for Newcastle and Tottenham.
Fofana, 27, has enjoyed a stellar 2021-22 campaign. Clocking up 41 appearances for Lens and captaining them in 35 of those matches, he has scored 10 goals from midfield. He has also laid on two assists for Lens.

Reports claim that Newcastle and Tottenham are among the clubs looking to land Fofana, along with Leicester and Aston Villa. Now, reports from FM state that Lens want a big price for their most-prized asset.
Indeed, they want a similar fee to the one that saw Newcastle land Bruno. The Brazilian cost the best part of £40million and FM say that deal has lead them to value Fofana in the region of £30million to £34million.
Lens want Bruno price for Newcastle and Tottenham target Fofana
The former Manchester City midfielder would be a superb signing. In an ever-improving Ligue 1, scoring 10 goals from midfield in a side that might have been worried about a relegation scrap is excellent.
Lens defied pre-season expectations to finish as high as seventh place. But for all their brilliant work last season, they have failed to get European football – and the financial reward that comes with it.
It means they may now have to cash in, in order to bring in some more players and continue to grow. Fofana might be sacrificed in order to allow Lens to sign two or three players. £30million is expensive, but understandable.
