Speaking on the Talking Transfers Podcast, Graeme Bailey has been discussing Raheem Sterling and a potential transfer for the winger this summer.

The Manchester City forward is entering the final year of his contract, and this week speculation about his future has ramped up as Chelsea have been strongly linked with a move for the England star.

According to Bailey, Chelsea aren’t the only team interested in Sterling.

The journalist states that Tottenham are also keen, while Harry Kane is doing some work behind the scenes to try and bring the 27-year-old to north London.

What’s been said?

Bailey spoke about Tottenham and their interest in Sterling.

“They’re not alone, Tottenham are in this as well. I am told that Harry Kane is doing some background work here, he might be trying to persuade his England teammate, they play well together these two, so let’s not rule it out. If he’s considering Chelsea why wouldn’t he consider Tottenham? I’d take Tottenham seriously, they can offer Champions League football, we know they want someone down that right side, so it’s really, really interesting,” Bailey said.

Agent Kane

Harry Kane isn’t only one of the best strikers in the world, he’s now seemingly doubling up as an agent and a Sporting Director.

Kane is trying to get Sterling to Spurs, and, to be honest, we can understand why.

Just look at how these two link-up when they play for England together, they have an almost telepathic understanding at times that rivals the partnership that Kane has with Heung-Min Son at Spurs.

The idea of Son, Sterling and Kane playing together at Tottenham is mouthwatering, and, in all honesty, selling that idea to Sterling shouldn’t be too difficult.

This is certainly one to keep an eye on.
