Tim Vickery has claimed that Tottenham and Chelsea transfer target, Raheem Sterling, is ‘admired’ in South America, as he told Sky Sports News.

The England international is a sought-after player this summer, with Spurs and Chelsea keen on his talents amid rumours that Manchester City would be willing to sell Sterling at the right price.

The 27-year-old has one-year left on his current Man City contract, so he either pens a new deal, which looks unlikely, or he looks for a new home.

Growing up in West London, it seems as though Sterling will be returning to the capital, but will it be Spurs or Chelsea? Well, only time will tell.

One thing is for sure, Sterling is a proven winner, with numerous medals to his name, but South American football expert, Vickery, thinks this upcoming World Cup in Qatar will answer a ‘huge question’.

“Yes, Sterling is (a player admired in South America|),” said Vickery. “I think in the World Cup this year, we are going to see the answer to a huge question.

“A lot of these English players can operate at a top-level Premier League teams. But, are they the players, in the big games, who can make that team top level?

“Clearly at Manchester City, there are other more decisive players around. It’s a different position but the name of de Bruyne just leaps out. He is the one who makes that team a top team.”

DOES STERLING START FOR TOTTENHAM AND CHELSEA?

There is no doubt that Sterling would start for Chelsea because Thomas Tuchel has a broken front three, whose £100 million player, Romelu Lukaku, is heading for the exit door just 12 months after his return.

Then Sterling is competing with the likes of Timo Werner, Hakim Ziyech and Callum Hudson-Odoi, to name a few, and in truth, the versatile forward is far better than those players.

But over at Tottenham, it’s a different story.

A certain Golden Boot winner in Heung-Min Son plays out on the left, whilst Sterling’s international captain, Harry Kane, is the man up front – he doesn’t start ahead of those two.

Dejan Kulusevski is the man who operates on the right for Antonio Conte and Sterling gets ahead of him, either way, added with Ivan Perisic, if Spurs manage to lure the Man City man to north London, then it would be some attack they would have at their disposal.
