Italian site CMW claim Inter Milan midfielder Nico Barella is desperate to join Liverpool ‘at all costs’ after another sparkling campaign for club and country. Jurgen Klopp is renowned to be an admirer of Barella.
Barella, 25, had a hand in 17 goals for Inter last season – as Inter finished in a very strong second place behind bitter rivals Milan. He played 58 times in all competitions for Inter and Italy during 2021-22.

Liverpool are likely to be after a midfielder this summer. Gini Wijnaldum left the club last summer and was not replaced. Naby Keita, Curtis Jones and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain could all leave in the coming months.
Reports even claim that Keita has been suggested as a potential inclusion in a deal to land Barella. Now, Barella’s stance on a move to Liverpool has been made clear – he would join the Reds ‘at all costs’.

What a signing Barella would be. The report claims he has a price tag of £77.5million, a price that is enormous – but for a player of his quality, is understandable. Barella is one of Europe’s best midfielders.
He has what Liverpool lack. What Thiago, Jordan Henderson, James Milner, even Fabinho – despite his spurt of goals last season – lack. That is a consistent attacking threat from open play, and stats to prove it.
If Liverpool can improve a near-perfect side, then it is by adding a midfielder that can have a final-third impact. Barella is that man. A player, Jurgen Klopp was happy to see was missing from Inter’s side when facing Liverpool in 2021-22.
