Manchester City are reportedly interested in signing Arsenal defender Kieran Tierney – and it could present the Gunners with the ideal swap opportunity, including Oleksandr Zinchenko.
Reports this week claim that 25-year-old Tierney has been added to City’s shortlist, as they look to bring in a left-back this summer. Perhaps a surprise, given the Scotland star’s proneness to injury during his time in London.
Tierney joined Arsenal from Celtic in the summer of 2019 – but has only worn the Arsenal jersey 86 times. An average of less than 30 games a season. But that has not stopped City from showing interest in £25million ace (BBC) Tierney.

Arsenal will not want to lose Tierney, a player that is seen as one of the club’s leaders. However, Manchester City have the chance to tempt Arsenal into a move – by offering them a straight-swap deal.
Manchester City interested in Tierney: Ideal swap opportunity
Reports claim that Arsenal want to sign Ukraine international Zinchenko. The Gunners are keen on landing the City defender, as they look to bring in a left-back of their own. Zinchenko can also play in midfield.
Clearly, Manchester City want to replace Zinchenko on the left flank and Pep Guardiola believes the Scotland international suits his side’s style of play. Similarly, Arsenal want Zinchenko to cover the regularly-injured Tierney.
Nuno Tavares has not convinced and Zinchenko could come in at The Emirates. The duo are likely to be worth a similar fee. Both are 25 years of age, both are very attack-minded left-backs of similar quality.
Given both players are similar, and Arsenal and City want eachother’s player, surely a straight-swap deal could be on the cards. Fans of either club will argue that the other deserves a bit of cash, but there is a chance for a swap.
