The agents of Barcelona goalkeeper Neto are trying to get him to Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal in the summer transfer window, according to Sport.

Sport have reported that Barcelona are willing to terminate the contract of Neto which has one more year to run.

The 32-year-old goalkeeper has two offers from clubs in Spain, while agents are trying to advance talks with Arsenal, according to the report.

Goal Brazil reported on May 31 that Arsenal are interested in signing the Brazil international goalkeeper this summer.

Do Arsenal need Neto?

In our view, Arsenal need not sign Neto in the summer transfer window even though he is “amazing with his feet” and is “top-notch”, according to his former Fiorentina teammate Micah Richards on Match of the Day: Top 10 podcast in November 2021.

Aaron Ramsdale is the number one goalkeeper at Arsenal, who will have Matt Turner joining up with the squad soon.

Bernd Leno is still at the Gunners, and if he leaves, then there is speculation that Karl Hein will be promoted to the first-team squad.

Now, Neto is 32 and is very experienced.

Would the Brazilian really be happy playing second fiddle to Ramsdale at Arsenal?

Do Arsenal need to spend money on wages to accommodate Neto?

In our view, no.
