Edu Gaspar has posted his delight on his Instagram story at Eddie Nketiah’s new Arsenal deal and stated that it is ‘more than deserved’.

Arsenal’s technical director posted the message after Nketiah signed the long-term contract at his boyhood club on Saturday, after ending the recently-concluded campaign in a strong fashion.

Whilst Alexandre Lacazette will head for the exit door this month and return to Lyon, the Gunners have retained the services of Nketiah, as the club posted on Twitter.

GABRIEL JESUS TO JOIN NKETIAH?

One of Arsenal’s main issues last season was the club’s lack of firepower, bite and depth in the final third, especially in the goalscoring department.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang departing for Barcelona wasn’t the issue, but letting him leave and then not replacing him was the problem.

But, it seems as though Mikel Arteta, alongside his transfer specialist Edu, will try to resolve that issue by bringing Manchester City’s Gabriel Jesus to town.

It has been claimed that the Gunners are closing in on a £50 million deal for the Brazil international – the structure of the deal is seemingly delaying the transfer.

Either way, if Jesus moves to north London, and then added with Nketiah, it would add more firepower for Arteta to try and unleash next season.

Will it be enough? Well only time will tell, but surely more goals need to be sprinkled onto the team because the Gunners don’t want to be missing out on Champions League football again.

If they do then, in truth, Arteta may find that the fans, who were pretty frustrated at how they messed up fourth spot last term, will probably turn on him.
