Chris Sutton has claimed that Youri Tielemans has had his ‘head turned’ at Leicester City amid transfer talk involving Arsenal, as he told BBC Radio 5 Live Sport.

The former Premier League striker thinks Tielemans ‘won’t be at Leicester’ next season and the ‘big rumour’ is that Arsenal want to sign him this summer.

It was previously claimed that if the Gunners had managed to secure Champions League football for next season, then Tielemans would have been in north London by now.

But despite only securing Europa League football, Mikel Arteta and Co. are confident of bringing the £25 million star to the Emirates.

Wherever the Belgian technician ends up, Sutton is almost certain that he won’t be donning the colours of Leicester City next season.

“He has had his head turned,” said Sutton. “He won’t be at Leicester (next season). That’s the big rumour, isn’t it (Tielemans to Arsenal).

“The fact of the matter is that if he wanted to stay at Leicester (then he would have signed a new contract).”

Arteta mainly likes to play two sitters, with Martin Odegaard, or Emile Smith Rowe, the ones playing further forward in the midfield three.

If Tielemans joins, then he will be competing with Granit Xhaka and Thomas Partey for regular starts, so who does he push ahead of?

It won’t be Partey because he is the defensive brain in that midfield, whilst he won’t get ahead of Odegaard because he is more offensive than Tielemans and is better placed further up the pitch than Arsenal’s next possible signing.

So, that leaves Xhaka, who whilst Tielemans can start ahead of him on a regular basis, it needs to be remembered that the club’s former captain was one of Arsenal’s best players last season, so his importance to the team shouldn’t be forgotten.
