Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal are interested in signing Manchester United target Lisandro Martinez in the summer transfer window, according to The Athletic.
The report has claimed that Arsenal have already made enquiries about signing Martinez from Ajax this summer.
The Telegraph reported in May that Manchester United head coach Erik ten Hag wants to bring the 24-year-old central defender to Old Trafford this summer.
Ten Hag worked with Martinez at Ajax.
The Argentina international central defender has won the Eredivisie twice with Ajax and the 2021 Copa America with Argentina.

In our view, Manchester United are more likely than Arsenal to sign Lisandro Martinez from Ajax in the summer transfer window.
Arsenal are already well stocked in central defence.
Ben White and Gabriel are two brilliant centre-backs, and William Saliba will also be available for manager Mikel Arteta.
Harry Maguire did not have the best of seasons in 2021-22, and Martinez could been seen as someone to play alongside Raphael Varane at the heart of the Manchester United defence.
Martinez made 23 starts and one substitute appearance in the Eredivisie for Ajax last season.
The centre-back scored one goal and gave three assists in those games.
