Arsenal want Gianluca Scamacca but their hopes of signing the Sassuolo striker are taking a blow with Paris Saint-Germain now keen.

Arsenal need to land another midfielder this summer and seen keen on signing another left back too after Nuno Tavares’ mixed debut season.

Yet the top priority has to be to sign another striker this summer with Alexandre Lacazette completing his return to Lyon.

Add in that Eddie Nketiah still hasn’t signed his contract and Arsenal are in desperate need of another goalscorer.

Whilst the top name in the mix is Manchester City’s Gabriel Jesus, Arsenal could also look to Italy with a move for Scamacca.

Arsenal want Gianluca Scamacca

Arsenal are showing a real interest in signing Sassuolo hitman Scamacca in a move that Edu seems to be pushing himself.

90Min reported earlier this month that Edu would like to bring Scamacca to North London in a deal worth around £35million.

Scamacca certainly impressed last season, racking up 16 goals in 36 games for Sassuolo.

A giant striker at 6ft 5in tall, Scamacca would bring a different dimension to the Arsenal attack – but he has other suitors too.

Foot Mercato now claim that Paris Saint-Germain are making their move to sign Scamacca and are now confident of securing him.

PSG have allegedly offered €35million plus add-ons (£30million) for Scamacca but Sassuolo are holding out for more given how highly-rated he is in Italy.

The Serie A side want around €50million (£43million) for Scamacca, meaning PSG and Arsenal would have to go a little higher than they planned.

PSG already feeling confident of securing a deal doesn’t bode well for Arsenal, who can’t offer Champions League football.

Add in that PSG can offer the prospect of joining Neymar, Kylian Mbappe and Lionel Messi and Scamacca could be attracted by the star-studded lineup in Paris.

With PSG pushing for Scamacca, Arsenal may need to go back to the drawing board in their chase of a new striker.
