Speaking on the Talking Transfers Podcast, Graeme Bailey has been discussing Sadio Mane’s future amid ongoing links to Bayern Munich.
It looks for all the world that Mane will be a Bayern player in the coming weeks after agreeing personal terms with the Bavarian outfit.
The Senegalese winger’s replacement has already been signed in the shape of Darwin Nunez, and it looks like Mane’s bags are packed and he’s ready to go.
However, as of yet, Bayern haven’t submitted a bid that is acceptable to Liverpool, and the Reds have apparently told the Bundesliga champions that they’ll happily keep Mane at the club if they don’t cough up the cash.
Mane himself has reportedly decided that Bayern Munich is the only club he wants to join, so if the German giants don’t stump up the correct fee, he may well be staying at Anfield for another year.
What’s been said?
Bailey spoke about Mane and the fact he’d only leave Liverpool for Bayern.
“Liverpool have told Mane and Bayern that they will keep him, they don’t have to sell him, if they have five forwards they’ll have that. The reports that he’s asking for £400,000-a-week are inaccurate, he’s not looking for that. He’s agreed terms with Bayern at £350,000-a-week, so he’s getting an uptake. As it stands there’s an impasse at the moment, and if Bayern don’t come up with the money they won’t be getting him,” Bailey said.
“Mane has decided that it’s Bayern or nothing, that’s what we’re being told, the likes of Atletico who are keen they’ve been told he wants Bayern. So if they don’t pay the fee, he won’t be going anywhere. I can’t envisage him not going, but Bayern will have to step up to the plate.”

Risky
Liverpool are playing a risky game in holding out for a big offer from Bayern Munich.
If Mane ends up staying at Anfield, the Reds will have no fewer than six quality, senior attackers, and while that sounds like a good conundrum to have, rotating these six players will be almost impossible for Jurgen Klopp.
As sad as it will be when Mane leaves, he has to go this summer so that Liverpool can maintain a solid squad composition next season.
