Leeds are set to sign Marc Roca as the Bayern Munich midfielder prepares to undergo a medical later this week.

With Brenden Aaronson and Rasmus Kristensen already snapped up from Red Bull Salzburg, Leeds have enjoyed a dream start to the transfer window.

There can be no doubting that more signings are needed though and a midfielder is absolutely needed.

Question marks surround the future of Kalvin Phillips whilst Leeds need to account for the injury Stuart Dallas sustained at the back of the season.

Leeds needed fresh energy in midfield anyway and it now looks like they are on the verge of a promising addition.

Leeds are set to sign Marc Roca

Bayern midfielder Roca has been linked with Leeds for days now but a deal now appears to be very close.

Sky Germany claim that Leeds have agreed to pay €12million (£10.45million) for Roca with €5million (£4.35million) in add-ons.

That brings the deal up to almost £15million with Leeds investing decent money in the Spaniard.

Sky Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio reports that Roca will now travel for a medical with Leeds on Friday, putting the final touches to his deal within a matter of days.

Roca, 25, was seen as a real talent at Espanyol, emerging as a cultured deep-lying playmaker in the mould of compatriot Sergio Busquets.

Bayern pounced to sign Roca in 2020 but he has only played 15 times in the Bundesliga.

It’s clear that Roca needs to leave Bayern in order to get his career back on track and Leeds are willing to offer him a big opportunity.

This should be a real boost to Leeds’ midfield, but the hope will be that Roca will be able to play alongside Phillips rather than replacing him.

Manchester City want Phillips and Leeds will be praying that they can utilise Roca and Phillips together rather than have to dip into the market for another midfielder later this summer.
