Newcastle United want Isaak Toure but the French youngster instead looks set to sign for Manchester City this summer.

Le Havre talent Toure has become an in-demand talent this summer and could be the latest Le Havre success story.

The likes of Dimitri Payet, Riyad Mahrez, Paul Pogba, Steve Mandanda, Ferland Mendy and Lassana Diarra all passed through Le Havre.

That’s a pretty incredible track record for a club who have spent most of their time in Ligue 2 in recent times.

Toure is now emerging as their next great talent and it looks like he will be leaving Le Havre this summer.

Newcastle United want Isaak Toure

Toure, 19, has emerged in Le Havre’s first team and you can hardly miss him.

The central defender stands at a staggering 6ft 9in tall, meaning he’d even stand a few inches taller than Dan Burn!

Foot Mercato reported in May that Newcastle had picked out Toure as a potential signing this summer.

Newcastle were allegedly planning to offer €9million (£7.5million) for Toure in the hope of securing a deal.

However, French newspaper L’Equipe now claim that Toure instead looks set for Manchester City.

It’s stated that Toure recently went to visit City’s facilities and loved what he saw from the Premier League champions.

Talks between City and Le Havre are understood to have accelerated rapidly in recent days and a deal for Toure is now close.

Toure may immediately be loaned out though with City looking to send him to Troyes.

Troyes are owned by the City Football Group and had City talent Issa Kabore on loan with them last season.

Taking Toure and giving him a chance in Ligue 1 makes complete sense and City will be delighted to have seemingly beaten Newcastle to what could be a very exciting signing.
