Liverpool have reportedly given up on trying to keep Sadio Mane at the club.
The Senegal international is widely reported to have told Fenway Sports Group that he wanted to quit the Reds this summer in a development which apparently stunned the owners, who were planning a new contract.
According to Sport 1, Mane, who earns £100,000 per week at Liverpool [Spotrac], has cited a ‘lack of financial appreciation‘ from the Anfield outfit.
The 30-year-old has been the subject of at least one failed attempt by Bayern Munich to lure him to Germany.
Sky Germany have reported that Bayern boss Julian Nagelsmann has personally contacted the player to ask him about a stint at the Allianz Arena.

The report adds that Liverpool are now ‘ready’ to offlod the player for a fee of around £39 million.
Why are Liverpool selling Sadio Mane?
Because simply put, the player wants to leave.
As mentioned above, FSG were stunned by learning of Mane’s desire to leave Merseyside after re-establishing himself as a massive player for Jurgen Klopp this past season.
During the second half of the campaign, Mane even outshone a certain Mohamed Salah relatively often.
Remember, this was also after a positional change, with the arrival of Luis Diaz causing Klopp to use the former Southampton attacker through the middle rather than out wide.
Despite the new role, Mane continued to thrive, scoring 13 goals across all competitions since getting back from the Africa Cup of Nations.
This is a lethal player and although Liverpool are looking at Darwin Nunez as a replacement, there’s no guarantees he’ll be as influential as the Senegalese livewire.
