The Mirror claim Leeds are ‘fighting hard’ to tie down the future of England midfielder Kalvin Phillips amid interest from Manchester City – with an offer of £100k a week on the table from the club’s board.
Phillips, 26, endured an injury-hit season limiting him to just 23 appearances during 2021-22. That was prominent on Tuesday night, when starting for England against Germany. He picked up a dead leg inside 15 minutes.

Nevertheless, his recent injury problems has not dissuaded Pep Guardiola’s side. Fernandinho has left the club as an icon, but he still needs replacing and Leeds star Phillips is being eyed as a £60million replacement.
Leeds would much rather keep the midfielder this summer and are looking to tie the England ace down to a new, long-term contract. The £100,000k-a-week offer would make him the club’s highest-paid player, by some distance.
Leeds fighting for Phillips: £100k a week on table
Leeds face a difficult summer ahead. While they have made good steps in terms of incomings, spending nearly £35million on Brenden Aaronson and Rasmus Kristensen, the future of their key players is in doubt.
Raphinha continues to be linked with Barcelona, but with Barca prioritising Robert Lewandowski – they can afford the £60million demands from the Leeds board. It is a different story for Phillips.
Manchester City are keen and ready to pay the fee – but it is whether Leeds can convince Phillips to stay for another season. Would he want to leave his boyhood club after a season full of injuries?
