Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio claims Tottenham are considering a move to sign Udinese wonderkid Destiny Udogie this summer. The versatile left-footed winger has enjoyed a stunning breakthrough season at senior level.

Still only 19, Udogie came into the 21-22 campaign having played just seven senior matches with boyhood club Hellas Verona. Udinese agreed a deal to take him on loan with the option to buy for just £3.5million (Soccernet).

That deal has since been made permanent, and little surprise. Udogie played 37 times for Udinese during 21-22, clocking up five goals in 35 Serie A outings – and laying on three assists. He is certainly worthy of wonderkid status.

Able to play as a left-back, on the left flank or as a wing-back, there are comparisons to be drawn with current Spurs star Ryan Sessegnon. Di Marzio says Tottenham are keen, but are yet to hold talks or table an offer.

Tottenham considering Udogie: Sessegnon, Reguilon?

Inter Milan are also considering a move for Udogie, as they look to replace Ivan Perisic – who has of course put pen to paper on a two-year deal at Tottenham. Perisic is likely to be first choice during the 22-23 season.

So what does it mean for Sergio Reguilon and Sessegnon. Firstly, Reguilon is likely to go. Reports claim Barcelona are looking to Reguilon, with the Spaniard deemed ‘surplus to requirements’. Sessegnon is well-liked by Antonio Conte.

He was first choice ahead of Sessegnon towards the end of the season. As things stand, he will compete with Perisic on the left flank. But if Spurs sign Udogie, then Sessegnon might have to consider his options, too.
