Speaking on The Done Deal Show, CBS journalist Ben Jacobs has been discussing Gabriel Jesus’ future and West Ham United.
The Brazilian is reportedly going to be leaving Manchester City this summer, and he’s been strongly linked with a move to both Tottenham and Arsenal.
However, while Spurs and Arsenal are keen on the striker, Jacobs says that there’s another London club that have had a look at him – West Ham.
Indeed, according to the reporter, West Ham have cast an eye over the striker with 58 Premier League goals to his name, but now, they’re much more likely to go out and get Armando Broja from Chelsea.
What’s been said?
Jacobs spoke about Jesus.
“Arsenal are very much interested, there isn’t much substance to the Chelsea links, Newcastle have circled in the past, West Ham have looked at him, but they’re more likely to try and get Armando Broja from Chelsea for a lower fee, so Arsenal can consider themselves in the mix for this deal, but, as of yet, they’ve not tabled an offer, they’ve made enquiries, they’ve spoken about terms and they believe they can get a deal over the line,” Jacobs said.

Hard to compete
As good of a signing as Jesus would have been for West Ham, they’re probably right to be targeting Broja instead.
Indeed, while West Ham want to be ambitious, you also have to be realistic, and if Arsenal, Spurs and Newcastle are also in for the striker, the Hammers didn’t stand much of a chance of landing him.
Broja is a fantastic alternative in any case. He’s been a star at Southampton this season and he could be the Clarets’ main man for the next decade.
West Ham will miss out on Jesus, but if they land Broja that blow will be softened.
