Darren Bent has stated that he can’t see Tottenham being able to compete with Bayern Munich to sign the ‘phenomenal’ Liverpool attacker Sadio Mane, as he told talkSPORT.
The former striker even questioned whether Liverpool’s Senegal star would get into Tottenham’s XI.
Heung-Min Son scored 23 Premier League goals during the 2021/22 campaign, winning the Golden Boot, alongside Mo Salah.
Whilst Harry Kane netted 17 Premier League goals – Mane netted 16 goals in the league, including five in the Champions League.
Nonetheless, when Bent was asked whether Spurs could compete with Bayern for someone like Mane, this is how he reacted.
“No, not at the minute,” said Bent. “I love Sadio Mane, but then again, Spurs are going in the right direction.
“Also, there is an argument. Does he walk straight into Tottenham’s starting XI? He has been phenomenal. He plays left-side of a three or centre-forward.
“He’s not going to replace Son and he’s not going to replace Kane. That leaves Kulusevski out on the right.
“Does he want to play out on that right-hand side? If you were Conte and you went for Mane, does he get straight into the team?”

MANE LEAVING LIVERPOOL?
There’s no way Mane leaves Liverpool for another Premier League club because it wouldn’t sit down with the Anfield faithful.
Some are trying to get their head around him wanting to head to Germany and sign for Bayern, in the first place.
But whilst Spurs won’t get Mane in their colours, they already have two superstar players in Son and Kane.
And now that they are back in the Champions League, this is the time for Daniel Levy to properly back their trophy-laden coach in the dugout.
