Trevor Sinclair has claimed that ‘Liverpool won’t have it’ and allow Sadio Mane to leave for Bayern Munich ‘on the cheap’, as he told talkSPORT.
The former England winger made it clear that Liverpool ‘get a lot of money’ for the players they sell and it shows ‘the power of the club’.
On Wednesday, Bayern Munich submitted a second offer rising to £30 million for Mane, but it was swiftly rejected by Liverpool, as reported by BBC Sport.
The Reds may be resigned to losing one of their star players this summer, but one thing is for sure, they are going to make sure it happens on their terms.
And that’s something Sinclair spelt out, as he reacted to that transfer rumour emerging today.
“No player, from my memory, leaves Liverpool on their terms,” said Sinclair. “Liverpool let players go for a lot of money or they keep them. It shows the power of the club.
“I think Mane is the most useful attacking player. The way he goes about things. He doesn’t score the most goals. But he causes absolute mayhem.
“He’s 30-years-old. Now, if we are talking about Harry at 29 being worth £100 million. Then £40 million for Sadio Mane is a snip. He’s a great player. He gives everything in every game. He turns up in big games.
“I am not surprised Bayern are trying to get him cheap. But Liverpool won’t have it. He is Liverpool’s important player, offensively.
On Mane comments: “It makes it difficult for Liverpool to get more money for him. He is almost making it difficult for him to go back to Liverpool. He knows the fans could get onto him if he continues on with that rhetoric that ‘if the Senegalese fans want me to leave…’”

LIVERPOOL RISK LOSING MANE AND SALAH FOR NOTHING
The issue facing Liverpool is that both Mane and Mo Salah’s contracts have 12 months remaining on them.
So, if both stay put this summer, which would delight the fans, then the club could risk losing them for nothing next summer.
The issue here is that they wouldn’t receive a transfer fee for such key players of their club.
Added with the fact that they would lose such key figures and probably need to look for players this summer in order to replace them, that’s probably why rumours about Benfica hitman, Darwin Nunez are heating up.
