Rasmus Kristensen has told Sky Sports that star Brenden Aaronson is a “quality player” after he completed his move to Leeds United. The new Leeds defender also joked he could move in with the USA international.

Kristensen, 25, becomes the club’s second summer signing – and second under Jesse Marsch. The Denmark international joins for a widely reported fee of £10million, penning a contract until June 2027.

Leeds moved quickly for the right-back amid interest from the likes of Dortmund and Leipzig. It sees Marsch reunite with a defender he once predicted would join a big club, back in 2021 while still at Salzburg.

Speaking to Sky Sports after the move had been confirmed at 5pm, defender Kristensen says that fellow new signing Aaronson is a “quality player”. He also says that the duo lived in the same building in Austria.

We lived in the same building in Salzburg so maybe we should do that here. I congratulated him and then a couple of days later I found out there was an opportunity for me. I’m happy to be playing with Brenden, he’s a quality player.”

Kristensen: Leeds star Aaronson is ‘quality’

It is exciting times for Leeds. Not long ago, fans were staring at a soon-ish return to the Championship – just two years after their 16-year exile from England’s top tier. But they saved themselves on the final day of the season.

Since, the club have spent the best part of £35million on two players Marsch knows. Both internationals, and both that helped Salzburg win a League and Cup double – as well as reaching the knockout stages of the Champions League.

Kristensen is likely to replace Luke Ayling at right-back, while Aaronson is a player the club have needed for a while. He bridges the gap between midfield and attack, and can also play out wide.
