Like a boomerang, Ousmane to Dembele to Liverpool is a transfer rumour that comes back pretty much every summer.
And this one is no different.
According to Sport in Spain, Liverpool have made contact with the France international about coming to Anfield during the transfer window.
In fact, it is a little different this time around and that’s because on this occasion, it could be for free.
The Daily Mail reported toward the end of May that Dembele has rejected Barcelona’s latest contract offer.
In other words, the former Borussia Dortmund winger, wanted by Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp in 2016, is looking certain to leave Camp Nou within weeks.
And if he winds up on Merseyside, well there might not be a better transfer this summer in terms of value.
Ousmane Dembele to Liverpool

There’s no doubt that Dembele hasn’t lived up to his billing at Barca following an electrifying stint in Germany with Dortmund.
That being said, Klopp is one of the best around when it comes to man-management and it’s entirely possible that the Reds boss will get a tune out of him.
Because really, what do Liverpool have to lose?
Yes he would cost a fortune in terms of salary, commanding around £17 million per year.
Then again, he’s still only 25 years of age and isn’t even close to hitting his peak years yet.
In terms of value, this would be a stunning deal by Julian Ward – Michael Edwards’s successor – at Liverpool.
There’s an element of risk, but for the sort of player Dembele is – and can be under Klopp – it’s worth it a thousand times over.
