Darren Bent has said on talkSPORT that Brentford left-back Rico Henry would be a good signing for Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal in the summer transfer window.

The former Tottenham Hotspur striker believes that Henry would push Kieran Tierney at Arsenal and could eventually become the first-choice left-back at the Gunners.

The Arsenal-supporting talkSPORT pundit is a big fan of the 24-year-old Brentford left-back.

Arsenal urged to sign Rico Henry

Bent said on talkSPORT, as transcribed by Metro: “Look at, say, Rico Henry. Fantastic left-back, even him. He could push Kieran Tierney.

“I love Tierney but if he can’t stay fit and Rico Henry, if every time he plays for Arsenal, he’s seven out of ten, he’ll eventually become the number one there.”

Good signing for the Gunners?

In our view, Rico Henry would be a good signing for Arsenal in the summer transfer window.

The Brentford left-back has done well for his club over the years and performed admirably in the Premier League this past season.

The Englishman made 33 starts and one substitute appearance in the Premier League for the Bees this past campaign.

Henry scored three goals in those games.

Now, Kieran Tierney is the first-choice left-back at Arsenal, and he is also 24.

Blessed with the versatility to also play as a centre-back, Tierney is unlikely to be pushed out as the number one left-back at the Gunners anytime soon.

However, the Scotland international has has injury problems, and Nuno Tavares has not been always great when he has deputised for him.

There is also speculation that Arsenal could send Tavares out on loan, which would open a spot in the squad for Henry, if the Gunners do decide to sign him.
