The Yorkshire Evening Post claim Portuguese super agent Jorge Mendes is being tasked with finding a new club for Leeds man Helder Costa. The winger is set to return to Leeds, after a loan at La Liga side Valencia.
Costa, 28, joined Leeds initially on loan in 2019 and did well in his first season – having a hand in 13 goals. But the Premier League proved too much of a step up, managing just 13 league starts for Leeds in 2020-21.

It saw Leeds loan him out and he went to Valencia. But his lack of form has remained, failing to score in 27 games. He is now set to return to Leeds, with two years left on his Elland Road contract.
Graham Smyth reports on the YEP that super agent Mendes is now looking for a new club for the ex-Wolves man. Whether that be another loan, or a permanent exit this summer from Elland Road.

He needs to leave Leeds – but it might depend on the asking price at Elland Road. Leeds spent £16million to sign him permanently from Wolves in 2020. There is no chance they get that fee back for him.
But if they can get anything above £5million for Costa, then they really have to consider a sale. Costa is on big-ish wages. Offloading Costa will certainly give Leeds a bit more maneuverability in the transfer market.
Indeed, if he remains, he is likely to sit on the bench. That will only stunt the progress of Crysencio Summerville, while Brenden Aaronson’s arrival will push him further down the pecking order. Costa needs to go.
