Journalist Paul Brown has told Give Me Sport that West Ham have offered Tomas Soucek a new contract, amid reports that Tottenham are interested. Soucek is about to enter the last two years of his contract.
Soucek, 27, initially joined West Ham on loan before completing a permanent move to the London Stadium in the summer of 2020. He has since clocked up 105 appearances, scoring 19 goals.
He remains a crucial part of the Hammers side, playing 51 times in 2021-22 for West Ham. His form has dipped at times this season, but perhaps it is due to the incredible amount of games played.

Star journalist Brown has told Give Me Sport that West Ham, despite his inconsistencies over the past 12 months, have given Soucek a new deal. Whether he signs, is up in the air.
The Express said last month that Tottenham were keeping an eye on the Czech Republic star. Spurs are not alone, with Fabio Paratici and Antonio Conte’s old side Juventus also interested in £40million-rated Soucek.
“They certainly don’t want him to leave; they’ve made him an offer. He only leaves if a Champions League club comes in for him with a really good offer. I think at the moment he’s quite content to stay,” Brown said.
West Ham offer Soucek new deal amid Tottenham interest
Could Soucek really leave West Ham, or perhaps more importantly, will West Ham let him? Soucek’s powerhouse-like midfield qualities have seen him stand out in English football over the last few seasons.
To net 19 times in 105 goals is impressive for a central midfielder. Not only does he offer work rate, a defensive screen, an attacking source and an excellent array of progressive passing – but he is a threat from set-pieces.
Soucek would be a wonderful signing for Spurs and without doubt, good value at £40million. But would he start? West Ham cannot let him go, and Soucek must consider whether he is good enough to start regularly.
