Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford has told an England press conference – as per Sky Sports – that Arsenal stopper Aaron Ramsdale is “unbelievable”. He praised the Gunners ace, saying he has had a great season.
Pickford and Ramsdale are fighting it out to be Gareth Southgate’s no.1 over the next few weeks. But it is likely that Pickford remains first choice, after a stunning spell of form towards the end of the season.
Ramsdale, 24, has kept 14 clean sheets in his 37 Arsenal outings – conceding 41. Pickford’s stats on paper are a lot worse, only managing seven clean sheets in 37 – conceding 63. But Everton, of course, were in a relegation battle.

England have four games to play in June, starting with Hungary away on Saturday. They then take on Germany and Italy, before hosting Hungary on June 14. Pickford gave his take on Ramsdale.
“Yeah, Rams has had a really good season. He has done unbelievable in his first season at Arsenal. I know I’ve got to be at my best because of that competition. He’s a great lad and we get on really well.”
Pickford: Arsenal stopper Ramsdale is ‘unbelievable’, who is the no.1?
Without a doubt, in terms of the way both finished the season, Pickford is the best option. The ex-Sunderland goalkeeper was in magnificent form, producing some crucial saves as Everton secured survival.
He is becoming a real leader at Everton. Frank Lampard spoke of how the Newcastle and Tottenham target is producing moments that kept Everton up. Ramsdale’s form has been up and down. Pickford is no.1.
