Traore will allegedly leave Wolves on a permanent basis this summer after a loan move to Barcelona didn’t really work out.
Barcelona swooped to re-sign Traore in January, taking him on loan almost seven years since selling him to Aston Villa.
Traore managed just four La Liga starts for Barcelona and Xavi won’t be taking up the permanent option to sign him.
That means 26-year-old Traore will be sold by Wolves this summer given that he has just one year left on his contract.
It makes sense for Wolves to sell now rather than risk losing Traore for nothing at the end of next season.
Traore is known for his power and ability to go past players; defenders certainly wouldn’t like coming up against Allan Saint-Maximin and Traore.
Hailed as ‘unplayable’ by Jurgen Klopp, Traore strikes fear into defenders but his end product can be inconsistent.
That’s maybe a problem for Newcastle given that you could say the same about Saint-Maximin, but they may sense a bargain with Wolves keen to sell.
