The Scottish Daily Express claim Leeds are leading Manchester City and Tottenham in the race to sign Celtic teen Rory Mahady. Leeds have been long-term admirers in the Scotland Under-17 international at Celtic.
Mahady, 15, is considered one of Britain’s best up-and-coming goalkeepers. Celtic are understandably keen to keep Mahady, but they have a recent history of selling their top talents to big Premier League clubs.

Ben Doak, for example, moved to Liverpool. Leeds have been looking to sign Mahady for some time, with the Whites renowned for constantly making additions to their Under-18 and Under-23 sides at Elland Road.
Tottenham and Manchester City, though, have come into the equation of late. Mahady, who turns 16 this summer, will have to make a big decision in the coming months. If Mahady does move south, compensation is required.

Leeds, as aforementioned, like to bring in younger players that eventually get their chance. What Mahady will see, is an instant pathway from 23’s to first team at Elland Road. Just this season, numerous stars have played.
Sam Greenwood, Joe Gelhardt, Cody Drameh, Kristoffer Klaesson, Lew Bate, Leo Hjelde, Stuart McKinstry and more have all been afforded senior game time. Would Mahady get that at Spurs or Manchester City? Hardly.
Leeds offer Mahady the best chance of a route into the first team. But an even better chance, is probably remaining at Celtic for the next few seasons.
