Stuart Pearce has stated that Leeds United and West Ham United transfer target Brennan Johnson is a ‘real talent’.
On Sunday, Johnson helped Nottingham Forest earn promotion to the Premier League by guiding them to a 1-0 win over Huddersfield Town in the Championship play-off final.
Forest will be hoping that provides them with more power to keep their star players, including Johnson, with West Ham and Leeds interested parties in the £20 million-rated player.
A versatile forward, who can operate across the front line, Johnson has a great first touch, composure at such a young age and brilliant attacking movement off the ball.
Nonetheless, this is what Forest legend Pearce, who is a coach at West Ham, had to say about Johnson, as he told Sky Sports Football.
“The stats bear everything out in what he has achieved for the football club,” said Pearce.
“I went to the game a couple of weeks ago, against Fulham, where he didn’t have much involvement in the game, but what he did there was quality. Real quality.
“Supplying crosses, his movement to get on the ball and receive the ball. There is a real talent there at such a young age. He has the world in front of him.”

JOHNSON IS BETTER OFF STAYING AT FOREST NOW
Over the course of the Championship season, Johnson scored 16 goals and supplied nine assists as he helped his boyhood club return back to the big time.
Steve Cooper used the 21-year-old in seven different positions over the course of the campaign, including playing in midfield during his side’s win against Hull, where he scored.
But, with many clubs already looking at Johnson’s talents before promotion, his jump into the Premier League will only put a bigger spotlight on his head.
Despite the transfer noise that might come the Welshman’s way, he is better off staying put at the City Ground and elevating his career even further.
